The Year of Stars

My niece Kathy G began listening for the name of years in 2010. This is what she's heard:

• 2010: The Year of Positive Thinking
• 2011: The Year of Playfulness
• 2012: The Year of Science (and Cake) 

 Which brings us to this year,  

• 2013:The Year of Stars 

She had to listen very carefully to hear this year's name. From her notebook:
Words from Buzzard's Roost Solo Hike 1/1/13 2013 is the elusive year. The year that just doesn't want to be named, because it knows what it is - it knows its intentions, and there are many. To be brave, to be patient, to be open to the next adventure. There are seeds and soil for the roots and branches. There will be shade for sunny days, and windbreak for stormy days. There will be light. There will be words. There will be laughter where friends gather, and perfect peace in the solitude. The name for this year is elusive now, but it will be. Maybe it is the Year at Grace Pace. The Year of Safe Places. The Year of Chasing Light. The year that knew itself too well to be named in haste. The year that got to know you.
